What’s been happening with FPSM?

FPSM’s Literacy Program has begun its second year!  Over the course of the first year, the Haitian ministry team noticed that most of the participants in the program were farsighted.  FPSM then began looking for non-profit organizations that provide individuals with glasses at a reduced cost.  We would like to thank New Eyes for their generous donation of 200 readers. This past month, the 36 literacy program participants were able to obtain the prescription needed (photos above and below.) Last year, FPSM borrowed a few rooms at a local school in order to carry out the classes.  Thanks to the addition of the chapel, we are excited to be able to provide the literacy classes on our own FPSM property this year.  You can see the beautiful view from the chapel (pictured below).

October 28th, 2017 marked the inaugural Durbin Trail Mix race, which encompassed a 5K walk/run, an 18-mile run, and a 3-person 18-mile relay. A huge thank you to Empower Coaching & Fitness, LLC for organizing the race (pictured above).  Half of the proceeds from the race benefited the mission of FPSM.  Thank you to all of the runners for coming out and supporting FPSM’s efforts!

What’s NEXT for FPSM?

November 2-7 Sarah Kamienski, Shannon Miller, Megan Nettles, and Christa Zielinski will be traveling to Haiti to begin the FPSM Healthcare Bridge Program.  The ministry team has chosen 5 pregnant women (all of whom are 3-6 months pregnant) who will receive education and clinical care during their pregnancies.  Please pray that God uses this trip for His glory and to expand His redemptive kingdom purposes.

Additionally, Sarah and Shannon will be getting the sports program off the ground along with interviewing the 16 children that FPSM has enrolled in school this year.

FPSM is so excited to celebrate all that God has done in 2017!  On November 9, 2017 all donors are invited to the Tringali Barn (invitation above) for a time of eating, playing, and celebrating.

If you have not yet RSVP’d, please e-mail [email protected].  We hope to see you all there!

On Nov. 19th, FPSM will host a Prayer Gathering at the Platko’s house from 4:00-5:00 pm.  We will also be continuing FPSM’s Youth Committee at that time.  During this meeting, the youth in both the US and Haiti will have an opportunity to get to know one another as they begin to partner together in the ministry of FPSM.

Partnering as we move forward…

FPSM is still looking for individuals who would be interested in hosting a Vision Night to help raise awareness and support as we move forward with Phase 3. If you are interested in hosting a Vision Night on behalf of FPSM, please contact [email protected].

Please join FPSM in praying for the following:

  • Pray for resilience for the evangelism team
  • Pray that the Holy Spirit would work within the hearts of the men, women, and children in bringing them to Bible Study
  • Pray for the 2 men living at the depot for their protection and presence on the FPSM property
  • Pray for the 16 students FPSM enrolled in school for the 2016-2017 school year

To date, we still need $250 a month in pledges for the 2017 operational budget (which is $2,000 per month in total).  Please continue to pray about contributing to FPSM on a monthly basis!

Additionally, FPSM is seeking to raise $50,000 in 2017 in order to purchase a Mitsubishi Fuso. $31,000 has already been raised on behalf of the purchase of this vehicle.  This capital expenditure will be used to transport large groups of ministry team members as well as construction materials in a much more efficient manner.

Your partnership in realizing this vision is overwhelming. On behalf of FPSM thank you for your generous giving that is helping to build the kingdom in Milot, Haiti.
