“The doctor of the future will no longer treat the human frame with drugs, but rather will cure and prevent disease with Nutrition” -Thomas Edison

The primary focus of SPP is improved nutrition and access to healthcare within Milot. By connecting pregnant women with knowledge and access in these key areas, the newest members of Milot will have a better chance at defeating these statistics.

Pregnant residents that join SPP will attend a monthly class taught by the FPSM ministry team. The class will consist of the following: basic prenatal, nutrition, and hygiene education. In addition, the participants will have access to supplemental nutrition, clean water, vitamins, improved hygiene, clinic visits, and a hospital delivery. Each mother and baby will also receive a birth gift. The program is 12 months, ensuring postpartum follow up, education, and breastfeeding support.

In developing countries the first 1000 days of a child’s life are crucial. From conception to the age of 2 years old, this time period is critical in determining the odds for that child between life and death. That is why after the first 12 month program is complete, Stage II continues to monitor the babies for an additional 12 months. From 6 months on, the babies receive a ready to use supplement (Micronutrient packet) intermittently through out the 12 months, to maintain the progress made while in utero. The team also weights and measures the babies periodically to track their growth.  Stage II was implemented January 2019
