Sports Programs

Every Saturday from 7:00am-10:00am FPSM’s Sports Program allows 40 students (32 males and 8 females) between the ages of 10 and 18 the opportunity to participate in a weekly soccer clinic. This soccer clinic takes place on the FPSM property in Milot and is led by members of FPSM’s ministry team and residents of Milot. Participating students are instructed in various aspects of soccer, including positioning, dribbling and overall skill development. They also have the opportunity to learn about the importance of teamwork with an emphasis placed on attitude and encouragement.

Prior to the clinic, students participate in a Bible study. During this time, they learn how the stories and the values of the Bible can relate to their lives and to their interactions with one another on the soccer field. In addition to skill development and Bible study, students receive a t-shirt, a pair of shorts, a pair of socks and a pair of shoes so that they can adequately participate.

The vision behind this program is one that aims to provide the students and their families with an opportunity to experience the strength that is born from a shared community experience. Additionally, the program aims to increase the self-esteem of the participants through their participation on a team of peers.
