FPSM has been working in Milot for over 5 years. In that time, the ministry team has had the opportunity to identify some of the greatest needs within the community. One of the greatest needs for the children surrounding FPSM’s property is education.

In 2017, the ministry team met with 16 families to discuss the possibility of their child(ren) attending a local school by participating in FPSM’s School Program.  Interested parents and students were asked to sign a contract stating that the student would maintain a passing average in order to keep the scholarship. Additionally, parents and students committed to demonstrating integrity and sound character within the neighborhood and the school. Since 2017, 85% of student’s have passed their grades and advanced to the next class.

However, in 2020 due to the lack of capacity within the local schools in Milot, FPSM launched an educational initiative (Primary & Secondary School Initiative).  FPSM is committed to seeing the current 16 students enrolled in the school program graduate high school. Once the 16 students graduate, FPSM will close out this current ‘schools program’ and center our educational focus on the FPSM Primary/Secondary School and the FPSM Seminary/Trade School.
